Circuit of Bath Walk 2016

Well done and thank you to the 62 pupils and staff who walked an 8km section of the Circuit of Balk Walk yesterday to raise money for Julian House.  Boarders from Hall and Fonthill walked from Kingswood to Bathampton Mill whilst  boarders from Middle, Summerhill and School House walked in the opposite direction.  Despite a few brief showers the sun shone for most of the time and the views of Bath were as spectacular as always.  It is part of a longstanding tradition for pupils to participate in the walk and, as is customary, the chaplain will make a contribution to support Julian House in recognition of their efforts this year.

Year 9 and 12 boarders' camp

Year 9 and 12 boarders enjoyed splendid weather for their camping and activity weekend in the Forest of Dean.  The pupils camped at the Biblins campsite and enjoyed a BBQ in the evening before participating in activities which included raft-building, climbing and caving the following day.

Gold Duke of Edinburgh Qualifying Expedition - Brecon Beacons

 

Well done to the 11 Year 12 students who completed their Gold D of E Qualifying Expedition in the Brecon Beacons today.  A challenging route completed over four days of very mixed weather.

Welsh Three Peaks Challenge

Well done to the group of Year 13 pupils and staff who celebrated the end of examinations by completing the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge.  Starting at 6am from Pen-y-pass Youth Hostel the group summited Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan in 7 ½ hours of walking.
